Parking is currently permitted on Washington Street and will be permitted on all other snow emergency routes as of 5:00pm on March 14.
Parking meters will be enforced starting on Wednesday. Street cleaning is suspended on Wednesday and enforcement will resume on Thursday, March 16. All other parking rules remain in effect.
Important Request to Clear Sidewalks
Temperatures will drop overnight, so property owners are urged to clear snow and slush before it freezes. Property owners/occupants are reminded that they have six hours after the completion of a storm to remove snow and ice from sidewalks adjacent to their property, along with adjoining wheelchair ramps or curb cuts. Residents are urged to assist elderly or disabled neighbors with clearing snow from their properties. It is illegal to shovel snow back onto streets or onto fire hydrants. The City is responsible for clearing sidewalks around City-owned properties.
To report an unplowed street, unshoveled sidewalk, or other problem, residents can submit an online complaint via www.hoboken311.com or via the Hoboken 311 mobile application.
“Thank you to OEM Coordinator Sergeant Montanez and the entire OEM team, our Environmental Services snow team, Police Department, Fire Department, Parking Utility, Senior Services team, and CERT volunteers for working together to keep everyone safe,” said Mayor Dawn Zimmer. “I also want to thank the County for clearing our County roads. We had no accidents throughout this storm thanks to everyone’s great work.”
The Emergency Operations Center will close as of 5:30pm. HPU customer service windows will close at 6:00pm.
