Redevelopment 101

On August 31, 2010, the City of Hoboken hosted “Redevelopment 101” – an informative seminar to educate the public on the redevelopment process. The workshop was recorded and may be viewed online. Learn more.

Southwest Rehabilitation Area

In June 2012, the Hoboken City Council declared the Southwest area in Hoboken an Area in Need of Rehabilitation. The City is in the process of preparing the redevelopment plan for that area. Learn more.

North End Rehabilitation Area

In December 2013, the Hoboken City Council declared the North End region, north of 14th Street bounded by the Hudson Bergen Light Rail and Park Avenue in Hoboken, an Area in Need of Rehabilitation. The City is in the process of preparing the redevelopment plan for that area. Learn more.

Hoboken Rail Yards Redevelopment Area

In February 2007, the Hoboken City Council declared the Hoboken Yards site along Hudson Place and Observer Highway an Area in Need of Redevelopment. The City adopted the Hoboken Yards Redevelopment Plan in December 2014.

In July 2007, the Hoboken City Council declared the Western Edge region, along the palisades between 9th Street and 14th Street, an Area in Need of Redevelopment. The City adopted the Western Edge Redevelopment Plan in August 2015. Learn more.
