The City of Hoboken is currently accepting new applications for a cannabis license. At this time there is only one available license. Applications that do not provide documentation of site control will be rejected. Please use the cannabis map to explore possible dispensary locations. The City of Hoboken supports the following Cannabis businesses:
Cannabis businesses are permitted in the C-1, C-2, C-4, I-1 and I-2 zones outlined on the attached map. Cannabis businesses are not permitted in residential zones. Medical Cannabis and Retail Cannabis businesses may not be located within 500 feet of each other, within 600 feet of any primary or secondary school, and not adjacent to any childhood learning facility. A maximum of six (6) cannabis facilities (medical or recreational) are permitted in the City as a whole, with a maximum of three (3) permitted in each Ward.
The map shows approved business locations as well as businesses that have an application and/or license pending approval and the radius each business covers. New applications that overlaps with an existing or pending location will not be accepted.
Applicants wishing to operate a Cannabis business in the City of Hoboken must be licensed by both the State of New Jersey and the City of Hoboken. Municipal licenses for all Cannabis operations shall be renewed on an annual basis.
