Driveway Parking Permit (Permit Symbol: D):
Residents who display this permit may park on-street immediately in front of a resident’s driveway without limitation except during posted street cleaning periods or temporary/emergency restrictions. Vehicles displaying this permit must comply with all posted/marked parking regulations if any portion of the vehicle extends beyond the physical width of the driveway (where the curb returns to the standard street width). Driveway parking permits are issued to Hoboken residents on an annual basis as a placard and expire at 11:59PM on the last day of their validity. For initial permit issuance, HPU staff will survey the driveway to confirm the permitted vehicle is no longer than the driveway width (to avoid future disputes, HPU does not issue Driveway parking permits for vehicles that are longer than the physical width of the driveway). There is no fee for this permit, but residents interested in this permit should familiarize themselves with the strict rules established by the State of New Jersey and reflected in Hoboken’s City Code 190-41.1. Parking in front of driveway. Documentation Requirements: [RS or RC] AND [VS, VC, or VL].
