ADDENDUM TO BID DOCUMENTS
BID 24-09 - DEMOLITION OF 207-209 JEFFERSON STREET This Addendum # 1 dated September 12, 2024 is issued to modify the above-mentioned BID, and is
hereby made part of the BID documents. Please attach this Addendum #1 to the original documents in your possession and ensure same is included in your proposal. This addendum includes:
Q1. Due to the estimated project costs, we consider the specified insurance requirements to be
excessive for this project. Please see our attached Certificate of Insurance and confirm if the
limits we currently carry are acceptable.
A1. The specified insurance requirements are required.
Q2. Please confirm if the Bidders Protective Liability insurance mentioned in the specifications is
the same as OCP coverage.
A2. Confirmed, Bidders Protective Liability is another name for OCP.
Q3. Will the Owner and its Representatives assist the awarded contractor with gaining access to the
adjacent properties?
A3. Yes.
Q4. Has the Owner and its Representatives received Historical Preservation Commission approval and
Zoning Approval as required in the Demolition Permit Requirements?
A4. No, this is a part of the contractor’s requirements for Building Department permit.
Q5. We suggest that the Owner and its Representatives allow the Awarded Contractor to leave the
foundation walls and footings in place that run along the public right of way and the adjacent
properties that are to remain. We are suggesting this because the removal of these items may
interfere with the infrastructure that is to remain.
A5. The footings and foundation walls that run along the right of way or the adjacent properties
may be left in place only if their removal will impact the structural integrity of the remaining
utilities or structures. This shall be determined in the field during demolition by coordination
with the engineer and the owner.
Q6. Is the Allowance for Police Traffic Directors based off the actual hours and dollar amount
used?
A6. No.
Q7. Please confirm if properties contain basements. A7. Confirmed, there is no basement.
Q8. Please advise if the there is a party wall between 209 and the adjoining property, 211. A8.
Based on the construction of the two properties, there is a common or party wall
between the property at 209 and the adjoining property at 211.
Q9. Are we able to use the fire house property and parking to access properties? A9. No.
Q10. Please advise if a Soil and Erosion Control Plan has been prepared and submitted by the Owner
and its Representatives.
A10. Yes.
Q11. Please confirm that there are no underground storage tanks. A11. Confirmed, there are no
underground storage tanks.
This addendum is posted on the City of Hoboken website to ensure compliance. The City will not
accept any further RFI/questions at this time.
There are no other changes to the BID documents as part of this addendum.
