Hoboken launches new interactive map to help residents plan around construction projects

The Bhalla administration today released an interactive map on the City of Hoboken construction website page to provide a convenient way for community members to stay informed about critical infrastructure projects that may affect their daily routines and travel plans. The new feature is designed to assist residents to plan accordingly and avoid potential disruptions.

“We recognize that in a dense, urban city like Hoboken, unanticipated delays due to construction can pose quality-of-life challenges for residents,” said Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla. “That’s why we are pleased to launch this new interactive map to help provide information on relevant construction projects and allow residents the ability to plan ahead. It’s the latest way we are modernizing our various departments in City Hall and providing as much transparency as possible to the public.”

The online map, created and maintained by the Department of Climate Action and Innovation, will display weekly updates on construction projects throughout the city. The map will allow residents to visualize relevant information regarding public infrastructure projects including where and when construction is occurring, the project’s purpose, the responsible agency, the scope of work, and anticipated traffic impacts.

The online map will be updated each week along with the City’s construction page which details weekly construction schedules for certain projects. Residents can use the map to learn more about the various construction projects the City of Hoboken, other government agencies, and public utilities are undertaking to improve quality of life and upgrade critical infrastructure and facilities.
