Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla and the City of Hoboken today announced the ParkMobile parking reservations pilot program, which will allow residents and visitors to reserve a parking space in advance in select municipal garages to make it easier to shop and dine locally this holiday season.
The new feature will allow ParkMobile users to reserve a space in Municipal Garage B at 28 Second St., Garage D at 215 Hudson St., and the Midtown Garage at 371 Fourth St. starting on Friday, Dec. 2.
Users can reserve a space in one of the garages via the ParkMobile app Monday through Thursday from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., and from 6 p.m. on Friday to midnight on Sunday.
“The pilot parking reservation program is a great way for visitors to remove the hassle of having to find parking on our street and have a guaranteed garage spot on the way to patronizing our local businesses," said Mayor BhalIa. "I encourage anyone who is coming into Hoboken to shop or dine to take advantage of this service!”
“The growing collaboration between Hoboken City Hall and our business community continues to pay dividends,” James Runkle, President of the Hoboken Business Alliance, said. “This innovative solution to a long-standing challenge means less time searching for parking and more time enjoying all our town has to offer this holiday season. That’s a win for everyone.”
The City also offers free parking for up to four hours in municipal Garage B, Garage D, and the Midtown Garage on weekends. In order to redeem the free parking, drivers will need to show the garage attendant a receipt showing purchase of at least $20 at Hoboken shopping or dining establishments.
This holiday season the City also offers discounted metered on-street parking. Drivers must use promo code "PARKHOB" in the ParkMobile app to receive 50%-off parking sessions in select zones through the end of the year.
